![]() ![]() It took me awhile to realize it, but I knew the Legion before I came here. “Maybe it’s the fact that you two came to this place together. “I wouldn’t think too much on it,” said Jeff. ![]() It just seems like everywhere I go, he’s right there.” ![]() I know you like to run around and help everyone, but that’s probably what’s getting you in trouble.” “I know it sounds stupid but every time I come across him, I’m the first to get hooked or the first to die.” “I don’t know, I just…sometimes I feel like he only wants to come after me all the time,” you said. “Do they ever…focus on you entirely? Like more than the others,” you added. “I was wondering, you came with Legion, right?” “Yeah, he’s a real asshole,” you muttered. “Can’t stand the prick, always peaking out from around the corner.” “You two showed up around the same time, huh?” said Jeff. “Maybe the Nurse? We haven’t seen her in awhile,” you said, ignoring Nea’s remark. “Who cares? We die or escape, it’s always the same shit,” said Nea. “Who do you think we’ll go up against this time?” “Yeah, another day,” said Jeff in a low voice. Jeff Johansen stepped out of the thick shrubbery and took a seat across from you as he set a large toolbox next to him. You gave her a weak smile when the bushes ahead of you started to rustle. Nea pulled out a purple coin from her pocket and gave it a flip as it landed perfectly into the palm of her hand. “Well, if you’re bringing that, I might as well use this.” “Maybe there will be something good in a chest.” “I guess the entity wasn’t feeling that generous,” you said. “A toolbox would be better, even a medkit.” “You couldn’t find anything else?” asked Nea. “Hopefully this will help,” you said as you showed it to Nea. You gave a solemn nod as you picked up a small statue of a woman sitting on the back of her legs. Hunger was always satiated and sleep was unnecessary, even after a long trial. After being brought into this strange realm, you realized that no matter the weather conditions, you felt neither hot nor cold. You suspected she did it out of habit for the fire brought no warmth yet the air was not cold enough for it to be needed. Nea Karlsson took a seat next to you on the log as she rubbed her hands together. However, the campfire was a haven from the horrors that waited for you elsewhere. Normally, you would be on high alert at any hint of noise or disturbance. Light footsteps came from behind you but you didn’t bother turning around. There was no one else around but you knew it was only a matter of time before the others showed up. It cast fleeting shadows against the trees that surrounded the small clearing you had woken up in. The campfire crackled and flickered as one of the logs fell to the side but the flames never wavered. ![]()
